Looking Beyond Repair
Adapting During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly affected our original business activities.
Many of the maintenance and service projects that had supported our daily operations were postponed or suspended as market conditions changed.
Rather than waiting for the market to recover, we began supporting product development projects for several clients.
This work provided an opportunity to continue operating during a difficult period while expanding our engineering knowledge beyond repair and maintenance.
Looking back, these projects became an important turning point in the development of AXION HUB.
Learning Through Product Development
Product development requires a different perspective from repair work.
Instead of understanding why products fail, we learned how products are designed, manufactured and prepared for production.
Working with engineering teams and manufacturing partners allowed us to gain practical experience in product planning, mechanical design, prototype evaluation and manufacturing coordination.
These experiences later influenced many aspects of our own after-sales operations.
Cleaning Robot Development Project
One of the largest projects during this period was the development of an autonomous cleaning robot.
We participated in the engineering and product development process together with external development partners.
Our work included supporting product planning, prototype evaluation, manufacturing coordination and technical discussions throughout the project.
Although the project was eventually cancelled after the customer’s investment plan changed during the pandemic, it provided valuable engineering experience that continues to benefit our work today.
Through this project, we developed a deeper understanding of intelligent hardware development, manufacturing processes and cross-functional collaboration.
Lithium Battery Transport Case Project
We also participated in the development of a transport case designed for high-capacity lithium batteries used in the automotive industry.
The project focused on balancing structural strength, safety, thermal management and manufacturability.
Working with multiple engineering partners allowed us to better understand industrial product development, prototype validation and production planning.
Although the project did not proceed to mass production, it further strengthened our engineering capabilities and broadened our understanding of product development.
Engineering Experience That Continued Beyond the Projects
Neither project became a commercial product.
However, the experience gained from these projects did not end there.
Understanding how products are designed, manufactured and evaluated later helped us improve repair processes, communicate more effectively with manufacturers and develop our own maintenance tools and operational systems.
Many of the engineering ideas that support AXION HUB today can be traced back to this period.
Looking Beyond Individual Projects
For us, the value of these projects was never limited to the products themselves.
They helped us continue moving forward during a challenging period while building new capabilities that would later support larger after-sales service projects.
The experience gained during these years became part of the technical and operational foundation that AXION HUB continues to build upon today.
